This live map shows where Sporadic E (SpE / Es) activity is concentrating on 10 m, 6 m, 4 m, and 2 m, using digital spots from PSK Reporter. It is a shack dashboard — not a forecast and not a substitute for your receiver, beacons, or on-air checks.
Each cell is the midpoint of a radio path (sender grid → receiver grid), not the station locations. Brighter cells mean more recent matching activity in that 0.5° region. Cells fade within a few minutes if nothing new arrives.
Main SpE layers only include paths between about 700 km and 2,400 km, to keep local groundwave and very long paths out of the primary picture.
| Layer | How to read it |
|---|---|
| 10 m | Often the first hint as MUF rises. |
| 6 m | Classic VHF Es — watch for clouds filling in. |
| 4 m | 70 MHz — between 6 m and 2 m in typical Es events. |
| 2 m | Stronger / higher MUF openings; often shorter-lived. |
| Long-path (off by default) | Diagnostic only for ~2,400–4,500 km paths. Cannot prove Es vs F2. |
Colour = band. Opacity within that colour = how busy the cell has been lately. Use Locate me to mark your QTH and judge whether a bright corridor lies toward a useful heading.
